After I had mentioned Luke and Chris' pedal project, on the internet, I was contacted by a Mr. Peter Amey. He wanted to know if the pedals had ever become commercially available. Sadly not, as the conversion would have been prohibitively expensive. So, Peter modified a pair of the MKS Quick Release pedals to accept the SPD-like clipless mechanism from a pair of Wellgo WPD 982 pedals. Looks as though he used only common, low-tech tools. "British bodging at it's best." He has kindly sent us pix and descriptions of the process. Living in England, Peter is not an MnHPVA member, though I'm sure he'd fit right in. Living in England also allows him access to these pedals. Neither of which seems to be available in the USA.
